How to Find API Key, Prefix, and Audience ID in MailChimp to Integrate with Your AnchorCard

To connect your AnchorCard to MailChimp you'll first need to add your API Key and Prefix to your AnchorCard. Here's how to find that information (or watch the video in the introduction of this lesson to follow along!):

  • Log in to MailChimp
  • Click your photo in the bottom left corner
  • Click “account” in menu that appears
  • Click “extras” in the top menu bar
  • Click “API Keys” in the drop down menu
  • Click “create a key”
  • Copy the API Key on that page and paste into the “API Key” box below
  • At the end of your API Key is a dash and then 3 letters/numbers which are your “prefix”
  • Copy those 3 letters/numbers and paste them into the “prefix” box below
  • Delete the dash and Prefix from your API Key

When creating an API key in MailChimp be sure to label it, “AnchorCard” so you remember where you used your API key in the future.

After you add your API Key and Prefix to your AnchorCard you'll need to add your Audience ID. Here's how to find that information (or watch the video in the introduction of this lesson to follow along!):

  • Click the “audience” icon on the left
  • Click “all contacts” in the menu
  • If you have more than one audience, click the “current audience” drop-down and choose the audience you want to add your contacts to
  • Click “settings”
  • Click “audience name and defaults” in the drop down menu
  • Copy the Audience ID on that page and paste into the “Audience ID” box below
